How to Maintain your Freedom

Good Afternoon Naturals!!

As promised here is a sneak peak of my latest Fly Society article! I hope it impacts you as much as it has impacted me!

Fighting condemnation?

Accepting the love that God gives is not easy, but it is freeing. The freedom that comes with Jesus Christ is parallel to none as well as the fight to maintain it. Through the power of the Blood and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ we were freed. Christ washed away all of our sins and iniquities and freed us from death and the curse of the Law. Ephesians 1:7 says, “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.” By accepting the truth of Jesus Christ and committing our lives to his teachings, we have inherited a new slate and a freedom that is comparable to none (John 8:31‭-‬32). Not only were we freed from our past, Romans 8:2 states, “And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death” (NLT). That means that we have been cleansed and freed from, but not limited to, past sin, crime, incidents, words, person’s, etc.

In sinning, we must know that there is no condemnation through Jesus Christ (Romans 8:1).

God did not just die for our past sins. He also died for every sin we will ever commit. Hold on hold on hold on. I thought I was free from sin? Yes, you are; however, you are human. God knows that we are not perfect. He knows that we have the capability to make great decisions some days and stupid decisions the next. We will succeed at some things and we will fail at somethings. It leaves a need for God and room for growth. No baby is born and walks the same day. Failure is not always bad. God can always turn a bad decision into a learning experience, once it is entrusted to Him. Honestly, in my opinion, The ultimate void of sin and suffering is in heaven. However, The key is placing your hope and trust in the Lord to guide you, and listen!, so that your feet will not be snared. Of course, I’m totally not suggesting we use this as an excuse to sin, but as a token to help you forgive yourself and move on. 1 John 1:7 says, “But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin” (NLT). That goes for past, present, and future.

If Jesus forgave us. Why do we find it hard to forgive ourselves?
